The previous AGM actioned that the existing constitution be updated and re-vamped as there were a number of areas that are considered to be Guidelines / Policy or Rules and as such not deemed to be part of the constitution.

The new constitution has been updated and the Guidelines / Policy or Rules removed. They will be changed and updated as necessary under the control of the DC as with the other existing Guidelines / Policy or Rules. I intend to open this vote to allow proxy votes for those who can not attend in person.

If you wish to vote by proxy then the following methods can be used a) an e-mail to chairman@theblsa.com or b) a letter addressed to Nick Dodge, 155 Park Street Lane, Park Street, St Albans. Hertfordshire. AL2 2AZ. Both methods must state either that they Accept the new constitution or Reject the new constitution. If you vote to reject the new constitution then you must give a reason. The proxy votes will be combined with the attendance votes and the result will be based on the majority.

All proxy votes must be received no later than 17:00 on 3rd Oct 2009.

The agenda also shows a Sail Number Auction. As a number of early sail numbers have become available due to members not renewing their membership. We thought it would be a good idea to auction these desirable numbers in aid of Sportablility. There will be an opportunity to send in a ‘advanced bid’ if you cannot attend the auction and these will go into the auction in a similar manner to ‘phone bids’. Remember this is a bit of fun to raise money for charity. The numbers will commence from 2010 and will remain yours for as long as you are a member. The numbers up for auction are K1, K4, K7, K8, K10, K12, K13 and K14.
