B Race (Series) Weston-Super-Mare
NOTICE OF RACE
Weston B Race
Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th April 2021
Weston Windzone, Uphill, Weston Super Mare, North Somerset. BS23 4XX. GPS 51.3225°N, 2.9917°W.
Although the Windzone is a designated area for wind powered craft, the public have Right of Way. Be aware that members of the public may be in the Windzone. Precautions will be taken to warn the public of our race activities, the Race Officer (RO) may stop the race if there is any encroachment on to the course.
Racing will be governed by the IBRA Rules Edition 7 and any additional amendments. Full set of rules can be downloaded from the BLSA website. Changes may be made at the discretion of the Race Committee and entrants will be notified.
Racing is open to all current BLSA members.
Registration is via the BLSA website shop http://www.theblsa.com/shop/ and payment is by PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account as all major credit and debit cards are accepted).
You must be logged into your own account to register for entry.
Pilots may enter under their local Blokart Club name.
Clubs are –
WBC – Weston Blokart Club
TI – Thorney Island Shredders
CBC – Central Blokart Club
ECBK – East Coast Blokart Club
CLSC – Carmarthenshire Land Sailing Club.
If you are not representing any of the above please list BLSA as your club.
Last day for entry and payment is Friday 10th April 2020. Late entries are accepted at the discretion of the BLSA Committee.
Don’t forget to bring your transponder if you own one!
Transponders are available for hire at £10 for the weekend. Any pilots wishing to purchase their own transponder, please speak to a member of the committee.
Current BLSA members are covered.
Entrants must have their own sail numbers on their sails and carry their membership and insurance details.
Lunch will not be provided. Tea and coffee (maybe cake) will be available all day.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors race entirely at their own risk. The BLSA will not accept any liability for material loss, theft, damage, personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during or after racing.
The Race Officer reserves the right to remove a competitor from the race if they are considered to be a danger to themselves or others. Novice racers are most welcome and will be given a briefing on the start procedure and basic racing rules.
Racing will be Production and Performance class with the following weight categories:
Lightweight 0kg to 75kg
Middleweight 75.01kg to 95kg
Heavyweight 95.01kg and over.
Weigh in attire – shirt/t shirt & trousers/shorts with empty pockets, no shoes.
SCORING, RESULTS and PRIZES
B Race Heats
1 point for first.
2 points for second.
3 points for third etc., in the respective class and weight category.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third in both classes for the three weight categories.
The winner of each b Race weekend will be awarded 2.5 points. 2nd will receive 2 points and so on down to 5th which will receive .5 of a point. These points will be added to the series score board, which will be updated after each b Race. The series board will be available on the BLSA website.
Saturday, 10th April
Registration, Scrutineering and briefing in the pit area at 9.30am. First possible race at 10.45am and last race approximately 4.00pm.
Sunday, 11th April
Briefing in the pit area 10.00am. First possible race at 10.30am and last race approximately 3.00pm.
Prize giving at 4.00pm.
