WESTON B RACE
Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April 2023
LOCATION
Weston Windzone, Uphill, Weston super Mare, BS23 4XX
SAFETY
Although the windzone is a designated area for wind powered craft, the public have right of way. Be aware that members of the public may stray into the windzone.
Precautions will be taken to warn the public of our race activities. The Race Officer (RO) may stop the race if there is an encroachment on the race course.
RULES
Racing will be governed by the current IBRA rules (edition 8) plus any approved additions, these are available on the BLSA website and the file section on the BLSA Facebook page.
Changes may be made at the discretion of the race committee and racers will be notified.
ENTRY RULES
Entry is open to all current BLSA members.
Registration is via https://www.theblsa.com
You will need to log on to the site first, click on the event picture or go to the shop.
Last day for entry will be Sunday 9th April 2023
ENTRY FEES
Adult £41
Junior £1
Transponders
Don’t forget to bring your own transponder.
Transponders will be supplied free of charge to first-time racers.
Transponders will be able to hire at £10 per pilot, pay when entering.
CLASSIFICATION
Racing will be in Production and Performance classes with the following weight classes.
Lightweight up to 75kg
Middleweight 75kg up to 95kg
Heavyweight 95kg upwards
Weigh-in attire is t-shirts, trousers (empty pockets), and no shoes.
SCORING
1st 1pt
2nd 2pt
3rd 3pt etc.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three pilots in each category.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Pilots race at entirely their own risk. The BLSA will not accept any liability for material loss, theft, damage, personal injury, or death, sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during, or after racing.
The RO reserves the right to remove a competitor from the race if they are considered to be a danger to themselves or others.
Novice racers are more than welcome and will be briefed about the start procedure and basic racing rules.
SCHEDULE
SATURDAY 15th April
Registration, Scrutineering, and briefing in the pit area at 9.30am.
First possible race at 10.30am and last race circa 4.00pm
SUNDAY 16th April
Briefing in the pit area 10.00am, first possible race 10.30am, last possible race 3pm.
Prize giving 4pm
MISCELLANEOUS
Lunch will not be provided, tea and coffee facilities will be available.
Public toilets are approximately 400m from the beach, they require payment.
